Through various channels of accountability and governance initiatives, CEfAD aims to help policy makers address policy gaps, decision makers take informed decisions and citizens take actions to challenge issues of corruption and public expenditure concerns. We facilitate linkages and dialogue between communities and governance structures, with a focus on rights-based approaches. CEfAD’s aim is to strengthen civic engagement towards the realization of key accountability outcomes.

We have identified the need for mobilizing the civil society and communities towards the tracking of public expenditure as well as monitoring the oil sector in relation to agreed international standards such as the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI).
